Speed Razor is a non linear editor and compositor that runs on Windows NT and Windows 2000.
Speed Razor is an editor. This means that it allows you to sequence material and adjust material using a variety of editing tools.
Speed Razor works with a variety of material including video images, scanned photographs, graphics, text elements (CG), animations, still images, image sequences and audio.
It is a non destructive editor which means that it is designed not to alter any of the source material that you add to the program. If you want to make a change to an item, then the program creates a new file behind the scenes without affecting the original material. This means that you can work in confidence knowing that your original material will never be destroyed. You can always go back and re adjust the original material.
Non linear refers to the fact that you can edit or adjust any of the material in the project in any order that you want. You don't have to start at the beginning of your project and work through. You can start in the middle, end or whereever you want.
Speed Razor is a compositor. This means that it has the ability to composite video, CG and images together. It contains a number of tools to do this including support for 32 bit alpha channels, travelling mattes, garbage mattes, transparency levels and a chroma keyer.
